Congratulations to Anthony Poehailos, BO Sp. ’12, a finalist of the Joy Hollar Costello Endowed Scholarship for Music Education!
Anthony is currently a sophomore currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Since his enrollment at JMU, he has been involved with a variety of ensembles including the JMU Wind Symphony, JMU Symphonic Band, Marching Royal Dukes, Opera Orchestra, and Musical Theatre Orchestra to name a few!
Not only is Anthony an active musician, but he is also a prominent leader in the School of Music as a section leader for the clarinet section of the Marching Royal Dukes for this past 2012 season, principal clarinetist of the JMU Symphonic Band, and Vice President of the Madison Association of Clarinetists.
This prestigious award in music education is an endowed scholarship established by Joy Hollar Costello ’58 for the support of the Joy Hollar Costello ’58 Scholarship Endowment in Music Education. Through this scholarship, funds will be provided annually to an outstanding undergraduate student scholar in the music education program at James Madison University who demonstrates high academic accomplishment.
